Psychological intervention includes a set of psychological principles and techniques that a trained person applies in order to help others prevent disorders, solve or reduce problems, guide them to make decisions, and improve their abilities or interpersonal relationships.
The aim of this course is to know the different models and therapeutic orientations, and learn to use the main techniques of psychological intervention and the main treatments that have proven effective for the treatment of different mental disorders.
Have studied the subject of Psychopathology of adulthood
To train the student in the knowledge on the process of psychological intervention in the clinical practice and the main therapeutic abilities involved.
Specific objectives:
Know the different models and therapeutic guidelines
Know the main techniques of intervention and psychological treatment, their theoretical and experimental foundations and the procedure and areas of application.
Know the available data on the effectiveness of different psychological treatments.
Practice the application of the various intervention techniques.
Once students have completed the course should be able to:

6) Intervention in Anxiety disorders
7) Intervention in Addictive Disorders
8) Intervention in Adaptive Disorders and PET
9) Intervention in Eating disorders
10) Intervention in Somatic and dissociative disorders
11) Intervention in Sleep and wakefulness disorders
12) Intervention in Affective disorders
The syllabus of the subject, as well as the practice of this theory will be developed through the master class that will serve to learn and use the terminology and linguistic structures related to the field of study, to practice and develop oral and written communication skills and to become familiar with the bibliography and teaching aids.
In addition, the case study will be used, which must be understood, evaluated and resolved by a student or a group of students.
Finally, the reading of directed texts is also proposed as a work methodology in order to access critical thinking.
| EVALUATION SYSTEM |
| An individual written test that includes the most general and relevant aspects of the subject matter under evaluation. These exams will assess the students’ capacity to listen and understand the main ideas of the course content, as well as their capacity to understand the literature specific to their area of study and use the relevant terminology. On the other hand, the written exams will also assess concepts specific to the degree programme’s various subjects. They will be structured into partial and/or final exams, final exercises, online questionnaires and the analysis of scientific articles. The resolution of cases will be used to assess the students’ capacity to apply the theoretical content learned in class in a real or simulated situation. |
