In the event that the health authorities announce a new period of confinement due to the evolution of
the health crisis caused by COVID-19, the teaching staff will promptly communicate how this may effect
the teaching methodologies and activities as well as the assessment.
The presentation of our research is one of the most important bases for the transfer of information to the scientific community. Given the vast amount of scientific information available online and in other communication channels, it is important to develop the ability to synthesise and to highlight the most relevant aspects of the research, which will be key to a successful presentation.
Other aspects of the art of communication are the selection of the right iconography as well as the design of the presentation, your supporting tool when presenting research.
Pre-course requirements
None.
Objectives
Describe the various tools for the presentation of research in different formats (lecture and research poster).
Competencies
CB6 - Knowledge and understanding to provide a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and / or applying ideas in a research context.
CB7 - To apply the acquired knowledge, and develop their ability to solve problems in new environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study.
CB8 - Integrate knowledge and deals with the complexity of formulate judgments based on scientific evidence, from information that may be incomplete or limited, include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments.
CB9 - Communicate findings, knowledge and reasons to present to specialists and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous.
CE1 - Ability to apply the scientific method, the experimental design and the biostatistics to solve a problem or corroborate hypothesis.
CE2 - Knowing how to use and apply the most common laboratory techniques in the fields of molecular biology, genomics and proteomics, biomaterials, cell and tissue culture, immunology, and microscopy in a dental field
CE3 - Ability to apply bioinformatics tools used in basic research.
CE4 - Apply experimental animal models as well as the methodology of animal handling and ethical concepts in research in dentistry.
CE5 - Knowing how to communicate the results of scientific research paper, poster or oral presentation both scientific and academic format.
CE7 - Knowing how to interpret the images obtained through the latest technology applicable to a research study in dentistry.
CE8 - Being able to apply the appropriate diagnostic techniques and interpret the results derived from them
CE9 - Apply the latest technological advances in dental research, considering its properties, indications, biocompatibility, toxicity and environmental impact.
CG2 - Ability to review analysis and discussion of the experimental results and to issue the corresponding conclusions.
CG3 - Self learning ability in the development of new techniques, in the knowledge of new scientific concepts and in the search of new scientific information
CG4 - Ability to argue and defend own scientific ideas and listen, analyze, evaluate and respond to the ideas of another person.
CB10 - Acquire learning skills that allow them to continue studying in a self-directed and autonomous mode.
CE10 - Know how to apply the epistemological, ethical, legal and humanitarian exercise in research and dissemination of results.
CG1 - Ability to integrate new knowledge through research and study, and deal with complexity
CT1 - Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural groups
Learning outcomes
