Fundación CYD
16/76Contribution to Regional Development
A total of 76 Spanish universities (48 of which are public, and 28 are private) have participated in this 7th edition of the CYD Ranking.
The CYD Ranking has a multidimensional focus and offers indicators that measure and compare universities’ performance in their different activity areas by analysing a total of 37 institutional indicators classified by performance groups (high, intermediate and low), which are grouped into six dimensions: Teaching and Learning; Research; Knowledge Transfer; International Outlook; Contribution to Regional Development and Employability (the latter in the field ranking).
The CYD Ranking makes it possible to measure and compare universities’ performance on two levels:
Institutional Offers an overall analysis of the University.
Field of knowledge Offers an analysis of all bachelor's and master’s degrees, which due to their level of homogeneity constitute a particular thematic area. For this edition, UIC Barcelona has participated in the field of Business Administration and Management and Law.
The UIC Barcelona academic programmes assessed from the field of Business Administration and Management were: the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management and the Bachelor's Degree in Advertising and Public Relations, the University Master's Degree in Healthcare Management and the University Master's Degree in Business Administration and Production Systems. The UIC Barcelona academic programmes assessed from the field of Law were: the Bachelor's Degree in Law and the University Master's Degree in the Legal Profession. Although it doesn’t provide a unique position for each university, the CYD Ranking ranks universities according to the number of indicators that have obtained a high, intermediate or low performance.
Institutional level, in the “Contribution to Regional Development” dimension Overall results
The U-Ranking of Spanish Universities (Synthetic Indicators of Spanish Universities) is a joint initiative of the BBVA Foundation and the Valencian Institute of Economic Research (IVIE). U-Ranking Volume, which ranks universities based on their total volume of results- teaching and research and innovation of Spanish universities- and, therefore, the size of the university plays a role in it along with the performance of each institution.
U-Ranking, which ranks universities based on performance- teaching and research and innovation- by size of the institution to make them comparable.
The two dimensions analysed by this ranking are: teaching, research and innovation
