Practical

Students will perform the clinical practical exercises on their own patients. They will take records and draw up a plan, then present them to the teaching staff for the course. Once the plans have been discussed and agreed upon, students will proceed with the treatment, which will then be presented in a clinical session.

Presenting cases

Students will present the treatments performed (in vivo or in vitro) to the responsible professors, as well as to the other students. These sessions will be complemented by the weekly clinical sessions in the discipline of Dental Restoration.

Clinical seminars

Discussion of interesting clinical cases, prepared by teaching staff or students on the Master’s programme.

Literature review sessions

Sessions in which, under the direction of a Master’s professor, students will discuss and assess recent and old articles of interest, with a view to shaping student criteria so that they can judge any future articles they read. At the same time, students will be introduced to the latest clinical and research trends.

Introduction to research

Students will have to carry out a literature review under the direction of a Dental Restoration professor. Students must present the finished literature review project to a UIC Barcelona examination board, and to a national or international conference in the field.

Supervised education

Participation in teaching forces students to undertake a deeper analysis and have a better understanding of concepts. At the same time, it helps them learn to communicate their knowledge to the wider community, an essential aspect of development when exercising the profession.

Specialised courses

Throughout the Master’s programme students will attend several specialised courses on specific aspects of dental surgery and cosmetic dentistry taught at our school by external lecturers.

The Master's degree will be awarded to students who complete the required theoretical and practical credits. Failure to pass these credits on the first or second attempt (July) will require them to enrol once again in the credits that have not been passed, following an interview with the professors responsible for the relevant subjects and with the acceptance of the programme director.

In most of the subjects on the programme, students will be assessed through continuous evaluation. A written record will be kept of all activities the student participates in, which will be assessed by the teacher responsible for each activity. In order to assess each activity, students must always have approval from the corresponding professor.

Students will need to take theoretical and/or practical exams in order to pass certain credits.
