Postgraduate Degree in Football Pathology
Organisation and development
Curriculum divided into 10 months of class, from October to July; 2019-2020 Academic Year.
Dates and times
Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Every 4 weeks.

Block 1: Football pathology (12 ECTS (Compulsory)
- Epidemiology of football
- Risk factors in football pathology
- Training systems and football pathology
- Playing surfaces and pathology
- Influence of footwear in football pathology
- Psychological basis and football injuries
- General aspects of football physiotherapy
- General aspects of football pathology rehabilitation
- Organisation of medical services at a football club
Football pathologies by region (10.5 ECTS)
- Muscle and tendon pathology; Stress injuries
- Biological therapies in football
- Upper limb pathology: Clavicle fractures, acromioclavicular dislocation; Humeral head fractures; Shoulder instability: Elbow fractures and instability; Wrist, scaphoid and metacarpal fractures
- Hip pathology: Femoroacetabular impingement; Trochanteric syndrome; Hip muscle and tendon injuries
- Knee pathology
- Meniscus injuries: From meniscectomy to transplant surgery
- Ligament injuries: Lateral ligaments; Central pivot injuries; Combined injuries
- Chondral injuries
- Fractures: Patella, distal femur and tibial plateau; Tibial tuberosity excision
- Knee pathology
- Foot pathology
- Rachis pathology
Block 2: Online (4 ECTS)
Block 3: Practicums (4 ECTS - Compulsory)

Block 4: Final Postgraduate degree project (7 ECTS – Compulsory)
