Practical course for perfecting the oral interventions of legal experts

Currently, the presence of legal experts appearing before the Courts of Law to defend their reports is increasing steadily. The daily experience of how judges and magistrates evaluate expert witness reports demonstrates how the work of the expert or investigator who produces an expert witness report does not finish there. The manner in which it is presented to the Courts and way questions directed towards expert witness are answered can be crucial to a good expert witness report having the desired judicial impact.
This course will teach you how to communicate your work in a precise and understandable way both in terms of the methodology used as well as the report's content, structure and conclusions. The teaching team is made up of a group of professionals with wide experience in this field. They will provide you with the keys, in a practical way using role-playing methods, to giving an effective account of yourself when appearing before Courts of Law.
During the second part of the course you will undertake simulation exercises in the Sala de Vistas room of the Faculty of Law. You will gain first-hand experience of how parties are interrogated and of the questions that might be put to you by the Magistrate presiding over the mock court appearance. The exercises are recorded so that they can later be analysed by the teacher coordinating the course in order to demonstrate to each participant their possible areas of weakness and the extent to which they have assimilated techniques for controlling stress and the communication and persuasion skills studied in the first part of the course.
