One of the main characteristics of Humanities studies at UIC Barcelona is the fact we ensure the academic and professional worlds can complement each other. For that reason work placements are a compulsory subject within the curriculum for this degree programme.

Objectives
The aim behind the work placements is to provide initial work experience in the cultural sector, guiding students towards using the competences they have acquired from their degree programme in a professional setting.
How it works
Professional work placements are compulsory. They are undertaken during fourth year and are awarded with 12 ECTS. However students can undertake other extracurricular work placements in second and third year.
Graduates of Humanities and Cultural Studies acquire competences that will help them find work in the following fields:
1. Heritage management and cultural tourism

- Museums, art galleries and antique dealerships
- Curating and setting up exhibitions
- Community and cultural centres
