The teaching method whereby students undertake Clinical Practicums in university or affiliate hospitals promotes model-based learning. The models in this case are the doctors and other health personnel from whom the students learn on-site in the workplace.
Over time, the students will start to utilise competences that allow them a certain degree of supervised autonomy. The model professional acts like a tutor and supports learning. The settings and jobs are as diverse as healthcare itself: critical care units in hospitals, emergency rooms, external practices, primary care centres, social-health centres, etc.
Graduation is contingent upon completion of the subjects in the curriculum for the Bachelor's Degree in Medicine with Medical Practice.
