Course objectives
The purpose of this course is to teach students the practical and theoretical skills to restore teeth that have experienced a loss of dental structure through indirect adhesive restorations. Throughout the course we will teach students the criteria to choose the different indirect restorations, how to design them correctly, as well as the different forms of provisionalisation and cementation that can be used.
Throughout the course students will learn the following concepts:
- Characteristics of biomechanics and teeth.
- Concepts of adhesion.
- Capped teeth: Inlays and crowns. Minimally invasive restorations.
- Reconstructive materials.
- Design of the various inlays.
- Concept of “Immediate Dentin Sealing”.
- Build-up.
- Provisional restorations.
- Taking impressions.
- Material for cementing indirect restorations.
- Techniques for undertaking indirect restorations.
- Cementation techniques.
