Work placement duration. Second semester
The master's Degree in Business Management and Production Systems includes an extended period of work placements in companies, which help to enrich student's theoretical training during the classes. Work placements are a medium for training students and the aim is for them to broaden the knowledge they have acquired in the classroom and apply this knowledge to resolve specific problems in terms of managing the production processes which are undertaken in companies. These can be carried out in a functional area of the company or in different areas and the preferences; abilities and needs of the students are taken into account during the selection process carried out by the master's degree coordinators. This is always undertaken under the umbrella of a written agreement with each company, in which the rights and obligations of each party are stated and then supervised and monitored by a lecturer from the university and an in-company tutor for each student.
Based on the Bologna Process and the continuous evaluation of the subject, the work placements are broken down into three stages:
- The stage "prior" to the work placements: the aim of this stage is to provide students with the necessary information to search for and secure work experience or a job in a company, as well as sessions on how students can become incorporated into the world of work. This stage is considered to be a key stage in terms of students' professional future.
- The stage "during" the work placement: the university supervisor and the in-company supervisor have the objective of encouraging the development of the student's abilities and attitudes, while at the same time monitoring progress in terms of the functions and responsibilities taken on by the student within the company.
- The stage "subsequent" to the work placement: This stage requires the Work Placement Report to be written, evaluated by a jury made up of various lecturers from the Faculty of Economic and Social Science.
Regulations
The work placements are compulsory and will be undertaken in the second semester, and they will be full-time.
