GRC - Research Group in History, Architecture and Design
The Consolidated Research Group on History, Architecture and Design was set up in 1998 within the area of Architectural Composition at ESARQ-UIC. It was directed by Dr Alberto Estévez until 2013, when Dr Judith Urbano took over.
It is a multidisciplinary group consisting of architects, art historians and cultural heritage managers.
Its main objective is to create a benchmark in terms of research into the areas of museology, promoting visitors, preparing content and exhibitions and rigorous studies in the area of the history of art and architecture. A project to encourage people to visit Vic Cathedral is currently being carried out.
Within the group around thirty master’s dissertations and projects to obtain a research sufficiency diploma or DEA have been completed, as well as a dozen doctoral theses.
The projects undertaken included the following exhibitions: Gaudí in París in 1910 (UIC 2002), The Block of Discord (Casa Lleó Morera 2015), Casa Gralla, a tour around a monument (MUHBA 2016), studies, seminars, publications and conferences.
