The atomisation of this sector requires frameworks and initiatives to provide overall guidelines for environmentally sustainable construction. This is where the transferability that the CEIM Chair is aiming for comes from, since is brings together representatives of each of the agents involved in the construction sector. When it was founded (in 2010) the Chair received support from four companies which represent the various agents from the field of construction: Construcciones Bosch Pascual (a construction company), Intemper (a roofing and facades company), Prefabricats Pujol (a prefabrication company) and Rockwool (an insulation company). The Chair began its journey along with these four companies but also aims to increase representation from this sector by achieving involvement from a total of between ten and twelve companies. Currently the Chair has two companies that act as its patrons: Rockwool and Pich-Aguilera Architects (an architectural firm).
The CEIM Chair aims to promote collaboration and development between the UIC and various companies and organisations from the construction sector, in order to achieve significant results in terms of sustainability and respect for the environment.
