Limited Places

What?

A semester-long course consisting of 45 on-site hours and 30 hours of online work (5.5 ECTS) that will allow you to build on your basic knowledge of Catalan and improve your speaking and writing skills in this language. This course includes a final B1-level (CEFR) CLUC exam, which could earn you a certificate recognised by the Government of Catalonia.

All members of the university community (students, PAS and PDI) and non-university members

How?

A semester-long blended-learning course (45 on-site hours + 30 online hours)

Where and when?

  • Semester 1

Barcelona Campus, 13 October to 17 December and 26 January to 4 February, Tuesday and Thursday, 2-4 p.m.

Sant Cugat Campus, 13 October to 17 December and 26 January to 4 February, Tuesday and Thursday, 2-4 p.m.

  • Semester 2

Barcelona Campus, 17 February to 12 May, and 26 May to 9 June, Wednesday, 5-8 p.m.

Sant Cugat Campus, 17 February to 12 May, and 26 May to 9 June, Wednesday, 5-8 p.m.

Price

  • UIC Barcelona PDI and PAS: €75
  • UIC Barcelona students: €180
  • Non-university members: €300

Certification

An elementary B1-level Catalan certificate recognised by the Government of Catalonia. To earn a certificate, you must attend at least 80% of the on-site sessions, successfully complete the online and class-based activities and pass the CLUC exam.

Credit recognition

This course has a workload of 5.5 ECTS credits. If you are a UIC Barcelona undergraduate student, you can request recognition of 2 ECTS credits for taking the course. If you are an Erasmus student, you can include this course in your learning agreement. For mobility students, the number of credits recognised for this course will depend on your home university.
