Andreu Olesti

Full Professor of Public International Law as of June 2003 as accredited by the University of Barcelona. Degrees in Economics (1986) and Law (1985).

His main field of specialisation is in European Union Law, an area in which he has both worked and published articles in specialist journals, being the co-author and coordinator of a number of books on European Union Law including: Técnicas y ámbitos de coordinación en el Espacio de Libertad, Seguridad y Justicia (Techniques and Spheres of Coordination in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice, 2015); Crisis y Coordinación de Políticas Económicas en la Unión Europea (Crisis and Coordination of Economic Policies in the European Union, 2013); La Administración autonómica y el Tratado de Lisboa (Autonomous Administration and the Treaty of Lisbon, 2012), Lecciones de Derecho Comunitario Europeo (Lessons in European Community Law, 2011, 6th edition), La Incidencia del Tratado de Lisboa en el Ejercicio de las Competencias Comunitarias (The Impact of the Treaty of Lisbon on the Exercise of Community Powers, 2010).

Since 2009 he has been the director of the Electronic Journal for International Studies (REEI) (www.reei.org). Director of the Institute of Public Law of the University of Barcelona between 2009 and 2015 (Vice-Director from 2008 to 2009). Previously Head of Studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona (2004-2008) and Secretary of the International Law and International Economy Departments at the same University.

Born 15-12-1974, in Barcelona.
Degree in Law from the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) (1992-1996)
Registered member of the Barcelona Bar Association (1996-the present).
Barcelona Notary having qualified through Notary Public Examinations (holding a position in Barcelona since November 2009 up to the present).
Notary attached to the Services Commission of the Directorate-General for Registers and Notaries of the Ministry of Justice - government resources section-(2009-2013).
Collaborating Notary of the Directorate-General for Registers and Notaries of the Ministry of Justice (2013-the present).
Legal Coordinator for the “Health and Medicine” supplement of the “La Vanguardia” newspaper (2010-2012).
Adjunct lecturer to the Chair of Civil Law at the Pompeu Fabra University (2010-2013). Four academic years. Lecturer on the Master’s course in Civil Law at the UPF (academic years 2014 and 2015).
Adjunct lecturer in Private International Law at the UIC (2013-the present. Three academic years).
Lecturer at the University of Barcelona on the Master’s course in Advanced Catalan Civil Law (academic years 2013, 2014 and 2015).
Lecturer on the Master’s Law Course at UNED (National Distance Education University - academic year 2014).
Several lectures (most recently, amongst others: "La Herencia" [The Legacy] at the Barcelona Chamber of Urban Property and "Ventajas de la Escritura Pública" [Advantages of the Public Deed] which was included in seminars on the reform of the Urban Lease Act organised by the Catalan Association of Registrars).
