The Vila Saborit Foundation, Sagrat Cor Hospital and UIC Barcelona set up the Nursing Research Awards in 2016 with the aim of recognising the work of young researchers, promote scientific excellence, support research in the field of nursing and disseminate research from the discipline of nursing.
The awards have two categories.
A) Doctoral theses (biannual)
B) Final master’s degree subjects (organised every year)
Terms and conditions of the 4th edition of the Awards (2019)
The following people can be candidates:
Professionals who take a university (official) master’s degree and who have defended a research project within the context of a final master’s degree project (TFM) in the area of knowledge of nursing. They must have defended their TFM during the academic year when the call takes place. Candidates must have obtained a minimum mark of 8. They must attach their academic record for the master’s they have taken.
The call is open to all the students enrolled for university master’s degrees offered by Catalan universities.
The projects must be unpublished and written in Catalan, Spanish or English. They can be related to any area of nursing knowledge.

Candidacies must be delivered on paper to the secretariat for the awards, located on the Sant Cugat Campus of UIC Barcelona (calle Josep Trueta, s/n), or via email to the following address premiosvilasaborit@uic.es, for the attention of María Vera, and must include the correctly filled in paperwork in the required format.
The deadline for candidacies will start on 13 March 2019 and end on 7 october 2019 (in August paper proposals will not be accepted by the secretariat). Only proposals presented using the correct format and within the stipulated deadline will be accepted.
The jury’s decision will be made public at the prize giving ceremony which will be held on 18 November 2019, the day after celebrations for the saint’s day for the patron saint of nursing, Saint Elizabeth of Hungary.
Once the candidacies selected as finalists have been defended in public in a final evaluation by the jury, the winners will be announced.
The Vila Saborit Foundation, Sagrat Cor Hospital and UIC Barcelona reserve the right to disseminate the prizes awarded via another type of medium.
The jury’s decision cannot be appealed, and the prize can become null and void if the projects presented do not meet the requirements the jury considers necessary.
Candidates who do not present their project in the required format, who do not present the corresponding application form correctly filled in or the documentation within the deadline and as specified will be excluded.
Dates for the 2019 edition:
13 March to 7 October. Receipt of candidacies
23 September to 7 November. Evaluation by the jury
18 November at 5 p.m. Prize giving ceremony in the Function Room in the Sagrat Cor University Hospital.
