  • Basic information

The prevalence of ICTs in our daily lives has prompted particularly serious situations of victimisation, vulnerability and bullying among adolescents and their family members and is affecting coexistence in schools and other places where minors socialise. In this regard, it is becoming increasingly clear that there is an urgent need to move forward in the implementation of systemic actions plans that address the issue from three angles: prevention, detection and intervention. In the face of new challenges, it is also necessary to take a truly multidisciplinary approach based on the experience of experts from a host of different occupational fields. More specifically, it is imperative that people in daily contact with minors in school settings, experts in educational psychology, specialist police officers and juvenile defenders, criminologists, lawyers and communication professionals involved in crisis management share and compare their opinions and experiences.

The aim of this session is to establish a constructive dialogue that explores the actual problems and addresses these questions. In accordance with the lines of action of the innovative new anti-bullying programme for Catalan schools promoted by the Department of Education, we have brought together tried and tested top-level professionals, as well as school directors and staff members, to analyse the issues that should engender projects aimed at promoting coexistence and eliminating bullying in schools and to address new risk behaviours or situations affecting minors (sexting, bullying, hate speech, incitement to commit suicide, anorexia or other forms of self-harm).
