Course programmes

It is an intensive course of 16 hours, distributed over 2 days.   The first day we will focus on the theory, introducing the practical part, based on selective cutting and Planas Direct Tracks.  The theory will be based on multiple clinical cases that have been rigorously selected in order to obtain the abilities and the confidence to undertake the treatment the following day in private practice.  We explain how, when and why.

  • NOR: basic grounding 
  • Development and natural evolution of the Stomatognathic system.  Concept of normality depending on the patient’s age. 
  • Craniofacial growth. 
  • Function - structure - behaviour. 
  • The importance of growth. 
  • Intercanine-intermolar width
  • Environmental factors 
  • Etiology of respiratory sleep disorders
  • Evolution throughout history 
  • Stress and environmental changes
  • Compensations and parafunctions
  • Importance of the position of the tongue for correct craniofacial growth and development (dysfunction of soft tissue) 
  • Limitation of the flow of air into the respiratory tract
  • Clinical examination (photographs, parental questioning, hospital records, dental examination, soft tissue, pulse oximetry) 
  • Introduction of the MyoBrace system 
  • The Planas law for minimum vertical dimension 
  • The functional masticatory angle of Planas. 
  • The Planas law for the development of the stomatognathic system. 
  • The principles of symptomatic diagnostics  
  • The principles of functional diagnostics
  • Selective slicing of deciduous teeth 
  • Planas Direct Tracks (transverse, sagittal and vertical).
  • In ONR Appliances: The fundamental principles of the mechanism of action for Planas Direct  Tracks.
