Course Programme

The students doing the clinical residency will be included in the six working groups comprised of first, second and third year Master’s residency students. They will then participate in the clinical sessions and in the treatment of patients alongside them, in addition to the specific seminars for the clinical residency.

Theory

  • Diagnosis in Orthodontics: Facial analysis, analysis of models, cephalometry.
  • Orthodontic appliances.
  • Phases of treatment.

Practice sessions

(During clinical sessions and work in the CUO)

  • Participation in the orthodontic clinical sessions.
  • Participation in inter-disciplinary clinical sessions.
  • Taking conventional bite registrations.
  • Taking digital registrations.
  • Placement, monitoring during treatment and withdrawal of appliances.
Students will participate in the following activities:
  • Mornings (9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.): participation in clinical trials on patients, as well as specific seminars for the clinical residency group.
  • Afternoon-evenings (2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.): work assisting the 2nd and 3rd year residents and the lecturers in the orthodontic treatment within the CUO.

To access the CUO, the student must bring:

  • Personal protection face screen
  • Full protection glasses, except in the case of wearing corrective glasses or magnifying glasses. In this case the full protection glasses are not necessary. All other material of special protection will be provided by the clinic.
