The Department of Applied Linguistics, in cooperation with the People Management Department, provides Teaching and Research Staff members a series of free or reduced cost activities aimed at promoting and improving the use of English and Catalan at the University, in areas such as academic organisation, teaching, research and knowledge transfer.

Unless otherwise indicated, all activities are free-of-charge.

General language courses at reduced rate
PDI may also take the English, Spanish and Catalan courses that we offer for the rest of the university community at a highly reduced rate.
On-site, blending learning and online courses: English New! PDI qualify for a discount rate of €75 on our on-site English B2.1, B2.2, B2 with an Official Certificate, C1.1 and C1.2 courses, and €150 on C1 with an Official Certificate, as well as half off all online courses.
On-site, blending learning and online courses:Catalan New! The cost of the A2 and C1 Catalan courses will be covered in full for all PDI who are taking the courses for the first time. Discount rate of €75 on all other courses except C2, which has a cost of €150.
C1 and C2-level exam preparation courses divided into two sessions in which participants become familiar with the official CIFALC exam and revise the exam content. These courses coincide with the official CIFALC interuniversity exams (with certificates recognised by the Government of Catalonia), which take place on the second Saturday in February (1st semester) and June (2nd semester). These courses are free-of-charge, unless otherwise specified.
