Carlos Pujol, a contemporary humanist
A great contemporary humanist, Carlos Pujol (1936-2012), experienced an intense passion for literature, far away from the spotlight. A poet, novelist, translator, literary critic and editor, member of the jury for the Planeta prize, a confidant for and teacher of writers, and a university professor. He married Marta Lagarriga, and had four children and seventeen grandchildren.
On the fifth anniversary of his death, prominent academics, literary critics, writers and editors were brought together to provide visibility and pay homage to the person and the work of Carlos Pujol. This event is being promoted by the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Humanities, where he was a professor for ten years and where the Personal Carlos Pujol Archive was set up.
